Randall Carlson

Bass Guitarist

Greetings- if you're looking for a bass player, you've come to the right place!  Randall has been playing for over 30 years with a variety of artists and bands- signed and unsigned, playing originals and covers.

Randall has played in small clubs to arenas, and small "project" studios to world-class studios with top-notch producers and engineers.  By age 19, he was touring internationally with Contemporary Christian band Xalt (Star Song Records) and recording with some of the industry's best producers.

Randall has also worked with several artists such as the following:

- Robin English (Debut single, "Girl in Love, #10 in Billboard's Top Country Singles Sales chart)

- Rob Frazier (Solo artist and former lead vocalist for Petra)

- Scott Riggan (Contemporary Christian artist with #1 single "I Love You Lord")

- John Cox

- Jonathan Pagano (formerly of Novella)

- Xalt

- Gordon Vincent

- Cher and Gene Klosner

- Graham Bland

- TJ Zark

- Ed Englerth

- Aaron and Andrew

- Michael Edwards Band

- David Durham

- Billy Mack and the Juke Joint Johnnies

- The Tacketts and Powell Creek Junction

Randall's approach is solid, tasteful, groove-oriented, and he firmly believes that the song and the artist should always come first.  Chops are great, but Randall also believes in restraint.  Good tone is important, and he has several basses to get the job done right.  Included are 4 string, 5 string, semi-hollow, and fretless instruments (including the mighty U-Bass for upright sound, with the portability of a small acoustic guitar).  Randall uses SWR and Eden Amplification.

Attached are soundbites of recordings with several talented artists.  Sit back, enjoy, then give Randall a call or drop him a line.  He will do one-nighters, short-term projects, touring, casinos, clubs, churches, sessions - you name it.  Randall can also record remotely if you send him your tracks.
